The crew member of a sailboat was evacuated when it was sailing 117 kilometers from Tenerife



Maritime Rescue evacuated the crew member of the sailboat Pan Pan at dawn this Monday when he was just over 117 kilometers (73 nautical miles) southeast of the island of Tenerife.

The evacuation, as reported by Salvamento Marítimo, was carried out by the Helimer 206 helicopter around 3:30 a.m. this Monday, under the coordination of the Tenerife control center.

Once evacuated, the injured man was transferred by Helimer 206 to the Tenerife North airport, where an ambulance was waiting for him to be transferred to a hospital.
