SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 12. (EUROPA PRESS) –
La Gomera attended the ‘Photo & Adventure’ fair in Vienna this weekend. For the third consecutive year, the island attended this benchmark commercial event in the adventure tourism sector, which brings together thousands of people interested in the fields of photography, travel, outdoor activities, film and video.
The island’s Tourism Minister, María Isabel Méndez, highlighted the participation of La Gomera in this fair, “with the aim of consolidating the island as a setting for the development of graphic and audiovisual productions, putting our landscape and natural values at the center of our proposal”.
Regarding outdoor activities and in full contact with nature, “La Gomera has brought to the ‘Photo & Adventure’ the wide range of tourist products and services that it has to be able to enjoy the island geography , whether by sea or by land, in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner,” Méndez explained.
The affable character and hospitality of its inhabitants, together with the variety of landscapes it offers throughout its geography, make La Gomera a paradise for photography lovers. “It is an ideal island to explore with a handheld camera, because at every step it is possible to find a good spot to take impressive photographs,” said Méndez.
The island has a network of trails that covers more than 600 kilometers, as well as a circuit of tracks for cycling tourism. Added to this are the spectacular seabeds, which are an attraction for whale watching and diving, in waters distinguished as Europe’s first whale heritage site by the Whale Heritage Site.
Turismo de La Gomera has attended this event under the umbrella of Turismo Islas Canarias, with its own counter equipped with an interactive screen, equipped with the tourist information application hosted on the Holaislascanarias platform, so that only the minimum of material is used in paper support possible, thus minimizing the carbon footprint generated.
This application has a new personalized suggestions section launched in the latest edition of the WTM in London, with which proposals are offered to users based on the trip interests they select, by connecting in real time to the tourist resources database
Photo+Adventure is a trade fair with around 170 exhibitors and brands that unites in the same space the professional and general community interested in photography, travel, outdoor activities, film and video. This year it was held at the Pyramide & Congress Center in Vienna, with conferences, seminars, photographic exhibitions, and workshops.
