A 65-year-old man died this Sunday, around 1:00 p.m., after being rescued from the water with symptoms of drowning in Playa Jardín, in Puerto de la Cruz, 1-1-2 sources reported.
After removing him from the water, personnel from the beach rescue service performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers after verifying that he had gone into cardiopulmonary arrest.
Health workers from the Canary Islands Emergency Service verified that the affected person was still in cardiorespiratory arrest despite the resuscitation maneuvers applied by the lifeguards, and they began to apply advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success, so the death of the affected person was finally confirmed.
The National Police took charge of the body until the arrival of the judicial authority, while the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services.
