More than 50,000 people in the world carry one of the seven Guanche surnames and 6,000 of them are in the Canary Islands. This is revealed in this video that has gone viral on TikTok @anaencanarias and which accumulates more than 540,000 views.

One of those surnames that still persists is Tenerife. However, none of the 6,000 Canarians who currently carry a Guanche surname carry that toponym. The tiktoker reveals the reason for that curiosity.
