The fire devastated almost 14,000 hectares8% of Tenerife’s surface area, and forced thousands of residents in the North to be evicted and another 3,000 residents of La Esperanza, the capital of El Rosario, to be confined to their homes.
After several reactivations and only five days after completing the two months since the start of the flamesthe technicians consider one of the fires most voracious of the last four decades in Canary Islands.
Sources from the insular corporation indicate that they are working to define the deactivation of the Insular Plan of Emergencies and the mountain access protocols in the areas affected by the fire.
