UGT Canarias, through the Federation of Services, Mobility and Consumption, has presented this Thursday a strike notice for workers in the cleaning service of schools and municipal offices of the La Laguna City Council.
“This decision has been endorsed by the majority of colleagues within the workers’ assembly held this Tuesday,” explained UGT in a note in which it requests the City Council to review the conditions established in the new contract specifications before of being awarded the service.
In this document, modified and published on October 25, “the proposals made by the union representatives are left out, all of them aimed at adjusting the service to the work reality and repeatedly transferred to the institution,” according to the union.
Likewise, said specifications provide for the option of roof cleaning, plumbing or gardening being carried out by the current staff, “which poses a health risk due to overload and danger as it is not included in the agreed working conditions. in their collective agreement,” he adds.
The mobilizations will start on November 20 in front of the municipal headquarters in La Laguna.
