The Autonomous Organization of Culture of the Santa Cruz City Council has organized a series of activities On the occasion of the celebration, the next Nov. 16of the International World Heritage Dayfor which the capital’s heritage spaces are used with the aim of bringing culture closer to the population.
The mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, and the Councilor for Culture, Santiago Díaz Mejías, presented yesterday the extensive program of activities, which will include visits, talks, exhibitions and an escape city, a role-playing game based on missions and aimed at young people. of between 13 and 24 years to publicize part of the war history and heritage of the city in an attractive way, through digital resources.
At the end of the game, a draw for 1,500 euros will be held in which all those who have managed to complete the missions will participate. The rules for this event can be found on the website www.lasantacruz.es.
José Manuel Bermúdez recalled that “Santa Cruz is the city in the entire Canary Islands with the most Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC) and the City Council is rehabilitating the historical heritage with an investment of more than 35 million euros.”
For his part, councilor Santiago Díaz Mejías indicated that “these activities have the objective of bringing culture closer to the entire population, to make the city richer and more attractive, and to turn Santa Cruz into a cultural capital of reference in the Canary Islands, using the different heritage spaces as the axis of these events.”
