He Tenerife Council reported this Tuesday that it is promoting the island on the giant outdoor screens of two of London’s most exclusive shopping centres.
Coinciding with the 2023 edition of the fair World Travel Market (WTM)which takes place from November 6 to 8 in London, an advertisement for Tenerife is broadcast on the giant outdoor screens of the Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City shopping centers, the island corporation details in a statement.
In this way, he adds, the attractions of the island are made known to the more than 70,000 people that are expected to pass through them during the three days of the action.
The president of the Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, points out that “the tour operators are aligned with Tenerife in the strategy to improve the quality, not only of the destination but of the visitors’ experiences.”
The CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, explains that the projected advertisement invites Britons to visit the island looking for unique and different experiences such as gastronomy, cycling and nature.
The video, which is broadcast every minute on the screens of the aforementioned shopping centers, shows images of the diversity of options that the traveler can find in a few days of stay on the island, from exuberant nature, with the Teide National Park among its main icons, to activities such as cycling, among others.
The action is part of Tenerife’s strategy already highlighted in its presence in the World Travel Market this year, where based on the diversification of the tourism product and the reinforcement of positioning as a sustainable tourist destination, among other aspects, a traveler is sought who contributes more and generates greater profitability for the destination, indicates the Cabildo.
According to the island corporation, the expectations expressed by the British industry in these meetings confirm that the island will continue with its leadership in that market in the Canary Islands, being the destination of more than 40% of travelers of that nationality who choose the archipelago for their vacations.
Expectations that coincide with the forecasts of 2.3% increase in air capacity to the island from the United Kingdom in the period from April to September 2024 compared to this year, which will bring the number of arrival places from that market to a total of 1,155,467.
