SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 6 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of La Palma, following the statements made by some representatives of the member entities of the scientific committee of the La Palma Island Emergency Plan (Peinpal), will hold meetings with all parties to reach an agreement that allows its effectiveness.
The Palmera Institution has indicated in a statement that it has worked on the path of enhancing the plurality of this body, allowing a voice to be given to the different participating scientific entities throughout the emergency, but also to those voices, emanating from citizen participation, that are has considered that they can provide instructions and debate to move forward in the current situation.
The Cabildo has regretted that within these meetings, issues have arisen that go beyond the scientific contribution, advancing to the personal level, generating confrontations that are not in line with what is required as an advisory body by the Presidency of the Cabildo.
Therefore, in order to solve these issues and guarantee the effectiveness of the body, the president of the Cabildo, Sergio Rodríguez, has intervened to guarantee the coordinated work and powers of Peinpal, calling all parties to resolve the issue and guarantee the correct public service of the body.
In circumstances of confrontations to which the Cabildo is unrelated and that are beyond the will of the Institution, Sergio Rodríguez invites the different parties to try to resolve issues that move away from the defense of the public interest, remembering that the forum to debate and reaching agreements is Peinpal himself, categorically rejecting conduct and statements that exceed the powers of the body.
