The Canarian Foundation Carrera por la Vida-Walk of Life will hold a grand gala tonight in Adeje to commemorate its 18 years of activities aimed at raising awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer and addressing the needs and demands of those affected. for this pathology.
At the gala, which will take place starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Adeje Auditorium, the first Carrera por la Vida Foundation Awards will be presented, which will highlight “the support of institutions, companies, groups and people that allow the development of “The Foundation’s projects make social responsibility real and believe that the well-being of people with breast cancer is everyone’s duty.”
In recognition of the awareness-raising work from the media, the 2023 Carrera por la Vida Foundation Award in the Media section will be awarded to journalist Juan Carlos Mateu, “for his work and personal commitment from the editorial office of DIARIO DE AVISOS. Throughout these 18 years there have been numerous articles by him that have served as a speaker for the challenges of the Foundation and the needs of people with breast cancer,” indicates the Foundation.
In the Corporate Social Responsibility section, the award went to the Fonteide company, “for being an example of the business commitment that it has maintained during these 18 years.”
The Research Award has been awarded to Dr. Javier Cortés Castán, “for his medical career in advancing knowledge and improving treatments for female cancer, and for promoting and presiding over the Contigo Foundation as an active forum for research.” .
In this first edition, the Social Responsibility award will go to the town councils and citizens of Adeje and Arona, “who have demonstrated their sensitivity in these 18 years, and have been an example of responsibility for community and institutional involvement.”
