The Government Council yesterday gave the green light to the process to approve the budgets of the Tenerife Cabildo, which will be presented tomorrow, at a press conference offered by the island president, Rosa Dávila, and the vice president, Lope Afonso.
As reported by the insular Corporation, the general lines are marked by several uncertainties derived from wars, inflation and the rise in interest rates, in the face of a paralyzed Spanish State with an extended budget, and the expectation that they will be applied or not the tax rules.
With this scenario, the Cabildo Government team has prioritized that the money reaches the people at the same time that it once again places Tenerife in the position of socioeconomic leadership that it deserves, they highlighted.
Specifically, the budget project for next 2024 increases with respect to that of 2023, in its entirety, by 8%, while the actions in social matters increase by 11% and the economic ones, by 4% as detailed. from the Cabildo. As the island president announced, “our commitment is that on January 1, 2024, Tenerife will have budgets that will meet the needs of the people of Tenerife, focused on social demands, recover the areas damaged by the fire, promote all economic sectors, with the consequent generation of employment, and facilitating mobility.” “All this with an equitable and proportional distribution of funds among the 31 municipalities,” she emphasized in this regard.
