Maritime Rescue has rescued two canoes with 179 migrants in waters near the island of Tenerife late this Sunday, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center of 112 of the Canary Islands and the Red Cross.
The first rescued boat was located by the Alpheratz sea rescuer about 9.6 kilometers southwest of Punta Rasca, according to Maritime Rescue.
There were 84 people on board in the cayuco, all sub-Saharans, who were assisted at the Los Cristianos dock, in Arona, having to transfer four of them to hospital centers.
The second boat was located by the Menkalinán salvamar 12.8 kilometers south of Punta Rasca and on board were 95 sub-Saharan people, who were transferred to the Los Cristianos dock, where 21 migrants needed to be evacuated to the hospital, three of them in Serious condition.
