He Santa Cruz City Councilthrough the Public Services area, directed by Carlos Tarife, will proceed to pave, on Wednesday, November 1, and with a budget of around 340,0000 euros, the Rambla de Santa Cruz and Avenida de la Asunción, from Numancia Street to Plaza República Dominicana. These works, which will be carried out at night, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., are scheduled to end on Thursday, November 9.
The mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, recalls that “the City Council is carrying out the most ambitious asphalt project in recent decades with which the pavement of many roads in the five districts is being improved, thus improving circulation, and, above all, the safety of citizens, which is the most important thing for us.”
For his part, the Councilor for Public Services, Carlos Tarife, assures that “from the Public Services area we are committed to improving all those streets and roads in Santa Cruz that are in poor condition and that make movement difficult for neighbors” and explains that “these works that we carry out at night to avoid peak hours are carried out with materials that are more respectful of the environment and that reduce noise when vehicles pass.”
On the nights of Wednesday, November 1 and 2, the section between the intersection with Numancia Street and the intersection with Horacio Nelson Street will be paved, for which it will be necessary to cut traffic on Rambla de Santa Cruz, in the two exit lanes from the city, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., at the intersection with 25 de Julio Avenue.
On the night of Sunday, November 5, the section between the intersection with Horacio Nelson Street and the intersection with Islas Canarias Avenue will be paved, meaning it will also be necessary to cut traffic on Rambla de Santa Cruz, in both exit lanes of the city, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., at the intersection with Horacio Nelson Street. During the work you will not be able to go down Comandante Sánchez Pinto Street.
On Monday, November 6, the same cutoff as the previous day will take place, but cars will be able to go down Comandante Sánchez Pinto Street and cross the Rambla in a downhill direction.
On Tuesday, November 7 and Wednesday, November 8, work will be carried out on the section between the intersection with Islas Canarias Avenue and Goya Street, so it will be necessary to cut traffic on Rambla de Santa Cruz, in the two exit lanes of the city, also between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., at the intersection with Islas Canarias Avenue. In addition, access to La Asunción Avenue will be cut off, in the exit direction, from Ramón y Cajal Street.
Finally, on Thursday, November 9, the section between the intersection with Goya Street and Plaza República Dominicana will be paved, with traffic cut on Rambla de Santa Cruz, in the two exit lanes of the city, between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., at the intersection with Goya Street.
