SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 29 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 56-year-old man has been hospitalized in serious condition after being rescued with signs of drowning in Playa del Bobo, in the municipality of Adeje, in Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1- 2.
The event occurred today, Sunday, around 4:15 p.m., when the 1-1-2 operational room received an alert reporting that a bather with signs of drowning was being assisted by lifeguards in the area of the breakwater.
Cecoes immediately activated the necessary emergency resources and a medicalized ambulance and another basic life support ambulance from the SUC, members of the Tenerife Fire Consortium, Local Police and National Police went to the scene of the incident.
Upon the arrival of the SUC resources, they confirmed that the affected person was still in cardiorespiratory arrest and continued with the cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers initiated by the lifeguards until they recovered him.
Once his pulse was recovered and he was stabilized in the SUC ambulance, the affected person was transferred to the Hospiten Sur University Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition. The firefighters collaborated in transferring the victim from the breakwater to the ambulance.
The displaced police services collaborated with the health services and were responsible for the appropriate reports.
