The strong waves in Tenerife have left important incidents in La Laguna. The Local Police have had to seal off some areas of Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo due to the impact of the waves.
In addition, the police force has recalled that the island is in a pre-alert situation due to coastal phenomena and has asked the population to exercise greater caution.
The Government of the Canary Islandsthrough the General Directorate of Emergencies, has declared the pre-alert situation due to coastal phenomena in the archipelago starting at 10:00 p.m. this Friday, October 27.
The pre-alert affects the northern and western coasts of El Hierro, La Palma and Lanzarote; north coast of La Gomera, Tenerife and Gran Canaria; and to the west coast of Fuerteventura.
