The residents of El Sobradilloneighborhood of Santa Cruz of Tenerifethey claim to be unable to take any more due to the presence of numerous rats around garbage cans, a bus stop and a playground of the area.

In statements to Canarian Television, several neighbors wanted to explain the situation they encounter daily: “People are very afraid. There are so many rats that people throw their garbage in the outside container because they are afraid of them.”

Another of the neighbors consulted acknowledged that it is an “unpleasant” matter because, in addition, everything happens in an area close to a busy bus stop and a playground: “You cannot use the park, because the rats have taken over from the neighborhood. I have a business, which feeds me, and people worry, just as I worry, about the rats.”

The same information indicates that the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has stated that, for a week, a specialized company has been working in the area to eliminate them.
