SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 23 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The company Territorial and Environmental Management and Planning (Gesplan), attached to the Department of Territorial Policy, Territorial Cohesion and Water of the Government of the Canary Islands, incorporates a new Strategic Planning Instrument for the period 2023-2025, which will allow for strengthening economic and labor of the entity and offer a more agile response to the needs raised by public administrations.
In fact, the company plans to close the 2023 financial year with revenues of more than 111.4 million euros, 23% more than initially planned.
The future income forecast shows its sustainability in the next two years, thanks to the increase in projects commissioned by public administrations, which have grown by 2.4% this year, with a total of 377 commissions.
The first Planning Instrument was approved in 2022, making Gesplan the first regional public company to have a document of this nature.
Now, the growth in its income and the number of orders received has made this update necessary, through a new action plan that defines the company’s strategy for the next two years, the Government highlights in a note.
Regarding personnel policy, the company has continued to advance in compliance with the Law on urgent measures for labor reform, the guarantee of stability in employment and the transformation of the labor market.
The forecast for indefinite hiring planned for the 2022-2024 three-year period in the previous Strategic Plan has already been fulfilled by more than 77%, and will be consolidated with this new plan.
Gesplan is a public commercial company of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, whose share capital is 100% publicly owned, and which is considered the own means of the Government of the Canary Islands and its autonomous bodies, as well as the seven island councils and 69 of the 88 Canarian municipalities.
Currently, the company executes projects and assignments on all the islands in different areas, including the environment, infrastructure, territorial planning or project development, among other areas.
All this work is managed through the four large areas, which are supported by the different services of the company, with an average monthly workforce of nearly 2,000 people throughout the Archipelago.
