The Senegalese deputy Guy Marius Sagna will visit the Canary Islands this Sunday, October 22, in the context of his international itinerary. Specifically, he will be in Tenerife in the morning, and in Gran Canaria, in the afternoon.

Nicknamed “the people’s deputy” or “the baobab”, he has a seat in the National Assembly in Senegal for the dissolved African Patriots of Senegal for Work, Ethics and Fraternity (PASTEF), led by Ousmane Sonko, in the coalition opposition electoral Yewi Askan Wi (Liberate the People).

A transversal pan-Africanist activist recognized for his great oratorical ability and his humanism, Sagna has identified himself with countless struggles for dignity and civil, political, economic and social rights, from the fight against the colonial CFA Franc currency to the Front for an Anti-Revolution -Popular and Pan-African imperialist (Frapp—France Dégage (France, get out!) But the epicenter of their struggle is imperialism as the fundamental cause of structural inequalities in North-South relations, therefore, of the injustice caused by the emigration of Senegalese youth from their own country to other parts of the world, including , Europe.

His time in Tenerife and Gran Canaria is part of a long international tour to denounce the country’s drift under the presidency of Macky Sall and the demand for the political rights of Ousmane Sonko, whom the Senegalese ruling party is trying to erase from the electoral lists. for the presidential elections next February 2024. In this sense, Sagna’s tour travels through various countries in Africa, Europe and America where he is demanded by the African diaspora and academic, political and social institutions.

This Senegalese activist and politician will arrive in Tenerife this Sunday, October 22 at around 10:00 a.m., around 11:00 a.m. he will greet his compatriots at the Rastro de Santa Cruz and to finish, he will visit the migrants of the Las Raíces Camp at 12:00 p.m.

In the afternoon, you will visit Gran Canaria. Starting at 5:00 p.m., you will attend the CCOO Room, on Primero de Mayo Avenue, number 21.
