It is a prequel to ‘The Wizard of Oz’, aimed at audiences over 6 years old. The work has among its plot lines racism, female empowerment and the defense of animals and it recounts some events that are not told in ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
Tribute to the poet and journalist Pedro García Cabrera
On Friday the 20th, at 8:30 p.m., the project ‘Pedro, a rebellion of silences’ arrives at the Teatro Unión Tejina, which presents the life and work of the Gomero poet and journalist Pedro García Cabrera, as well as his political and social role.
The show combines theater with music and unpublished texts by the author himself and is developed by the Pedro García Cabrera Cultural Chair of the University of La Laguna, under the coordination of the chair’s director, Guadalberto Hernández.
XIV Solidarity Festival
To close the weekend, El Teatro Leal will host the XIV Solidarity Festival on Sunday the 22nd, to benefit the La Laguna nursing home.
