The Kings of Spain, Felipe VI and Doña Letizia, will visit the island of Tenerife next Tuesday to learn about the impact of the forest fire that has been ravaging the island since mid-August – it is not extinguished and there are reactivations – and that affected more than 14,000 hectares in a perimeter of 90 kilometers across 12 municipalities.
Thus, together with the president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, and the president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, they will maintain an agenda that will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the Mirador de Chipeque, in Santa Úrsula, where they will hold a meeting with the mayors of the affected municipalities and with technicians responsible for the fire.
Subsequently, at 1:00 p.m. they will travel to Arafo, the municipality where the fire started to hold a meeting at the Cultural and Recreation Association with representatives of economic sectors affected by the fire, in which neighborhood entities and volunteers will also participate, reports the Government of the Canary Islands in a note.
In the afternoon, at 5:30 p.m., an event will be held at the Tenerife Adán Martín Auditorium, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in which the staff, personnel, groups, official schools and corporations that have intervened will be honored. since the forest fire broke out.
