Dávila puts the expansion of lanes on the TF-1 and TF-5 before the La Laguna bypass

The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila (Canary Coalition), has been in favor this Wednesday of streamlining the third lanes on the TF-1 and TF-5 “without a doubt” in front of the La Laguna ring road. , which was on the verge of being put out to tender at the end of the last term.

In a press conference to take stock of his first 100 days in office, he indicated that the reports from the Highways area of the Cabildo on that project were “unfavorable” apart from the fact that there was no “technical or political dialogue” between the Cabildo and the Ministry of Public Works of the Government of the Canary Islands.

He has said that “it cannot happen” that a work is going to be put out to tender with contrary technical reports from the Cabildo and now relations have been resumed with the Ministry so that decisions on the island’s major works are made by consensus.

“We do not rule it out but we work with the technicians to find a consensual solution,” he indicated, recognizing that La Laguna “has a wound” with the TF-5, which divides the city in two and must be overcome “in the best way.” possible, I don’t know if it will be with the variant or with another project.”

Regarding the third lane of the TF-5 between Guamasa and La Orotava, he has indicated that it is a project that has “many allegations” and was put out to public tender in full elections and now it is about having “fluid dialogue” between all parties involved and achieve the “best possible project” knowing that there will inevitably be some impact on the ground.

Regarding other infrastructures, he has commented that the objective is to expand tram lines to Tacoronte, Añaza and Muñeco de Nieve – the latter is the most “mature” and could be undertaken in 2024 – because it is clear that improving mobility In Tenerife it is not about “more roads” but about promoting the use of public transport.

Dávila has also expressed satisfaction with the “coordinated” work with Aena to promote the expansions of the Tenerife North and Tenerife South airports and has highlighted the projects to renovate the Heliodoro Rodríguez López, in several phases, and the construction of a new Cidemat.
