A canoe with 65 migrants on board was intercepted this Monday in waters south of the island of El Hierro, Maritime Rescue and Red Cross sources inform Europa Press, who specify that the vessel detected about 12 miles from the port of La Restinga .
The Tenerife Rescue Center mobilized the Salvamar Adhara, which accompanied the boat safely to the dock.
There were 64 men and one woman traveling in the canoe, all of sub-Saharan origin, and in apparent good health, so transfers to health centers were not ordered.
With this cayuco, almost 300 irregular immigrants have arrived on the islands this Monday alone, as 133 have been registered in the port of Los Cristianos, 52 in Arrecife and 48 in Puerto del Rosario.
