He Adeje City Council has announced that, starting this year, will eliminate the presence of animals from his pilgrimagewhich this year becomes a pilgrimage walk due to the heat wave.
“We cannot expose the animals to the high temperatures we have this week. We have decided that the measure is permanent to guarantee animal welfare” declared the mayor of the municipality, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga.
The day will begin with the pilgrimage mass at 11:00 a.m. in the parish church of Santa Úrsula. Starting at 1:00 p.m., the pilgrims will begin the pilgrimage walk accompanied by their banner and musical and dance groups.
At the end, there will be a gathering in the Plaza and at 5:00 p.m. the traditional end of the festivities will take place with dancing in the Plaza España with the Sensación Gomera and Maquinaria Band orchestras.
