SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife will hold the Merkarte Fair at the Youth House in Puerto de la Cruz at the end of October with the aim of promoting the work of 15 young artists.
The Minister of Youth and Training, Serafín Mesa, recently held a meeting with the Porto officials to finalize the details.
“We are very excited about this fair in Puerto de la Cruz that will allow us to present the work of 15 young artists, but that will also be accompanied by workshops and activities linked to music, commerce and gastronomy,” he says in a note. .
Mesa explains that “this type of event allows the creations of young artists to be disseminated, giving them visibility and promoting their work.”
In his opinion, “it is a way to facilitate their incorporation into the art market or into the different professional sectors that require the intervention of artists such as art, fashion, illustration and decoration.”
Merkarte is an educational, artistic and social program organized by the Cabildo of Tenerife that will celebrate its twentieth anniversary in 2024 and whose objective is to make visible, promote and empower young creatives on the island, promoting their professionalization and their incorporation into the labor market.
Thus, it offers a program of training, exhibition and socio-labor accompaniment activities, in its commitment to youth and local talent in collaboration with the tourism industry and other private actors.
Merkarte also emerges as a unique platform that allows young artistic talents to expose their creativity and share their passion for art with the community.
The Cabildo points out that this event represents an “exceptional opportunity” for visitors to appreciate the diversity and richness of contemporary art in the Canary Islands, in addition to meeting emerging artists.
