A helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) rescued a 52-year-old woman this Wednesday, with moderate trauma to her leg, after suffering a fall while hiking in Las Cañadas del Teide.
The events occurred shortly before 10:00 a.m. when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert in which it was reported that a hiker had suffered a fall in the vicinity of the viewpoint of Pico Viejo, in El Teide, and needed health care.
Rescuers from the GES helicopter reached the affected woman, provided first aid, proceeded to her rescue and evacuated her to the Tenerife North airport and once on the ground, a person from the SUC assisted the hiker and transferred her to the Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria Hospital. .
