What will the weather be like in the Canary Islands this Thursday?

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) announces for this Thursday slightly cloudy skies and temperatures without changes or with some slight decrease, although they will exceed 34 degrees in the south and west of Gran Canaria and Tenerife, The iron and La Gomera and the minimums will remain high.

The wind will be light to moderate from the east and light haze is expected in the eastern islands.

Regarding the state of the sea, it announces variable wind of force 1 to 3 and from the north and northeast of 2 to 4 or 5 and 6, rippled sea or swell and locally rough seas.

The forecast by islands is as follows:

Little cloudy in general with some interval of cloudiness during the first half of the day. Light calima at altitude, increasing and affecting lower levels in the last few hours. Temperatures with few changes or a slight decrease. Temperatures may exceed 30-32 ºC in southern interior areas. Light to moderate wind with an easterly component, with some strong intervals in the interior and in the west, especially during the early morning.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Reef 22 29

Little cloudy in general with some intervals of high cloudiness in the early morning. Light calima at altitude, increasing and affecting lower levels in the last few hours. Temperatures with few changes or a slight decrease. 30-32 ºC may be reached locally in southern and western interior areas. Light to moderate wind with an easterly component, with some strong intervals in the interior and in the west, especially during the early morning.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Puerto del Rosario 22 28

GRAN CANARIA

Generally slightly cloudy skies. Probability of light haze affecting high areas. Temperatures unchanged, with some slight decrease. 34 ºC will be reached in the midlands and western and southern slopes, and 30-32 ºC in the rest of the areas, except on the summits. The minimum temperatures will continue to reach 24-25 ºC in large areas. Light to moderate wind from the northeast that will turn to an easterly component in the midlands in the second half of the day.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): The Gran Canarian palms 24 30

TENERIFE

Generally slightly cloudy skies. Chance of light haze. Temperatures with few changes or a slight decrease. 34 ºC will be reached on the southern and southeastern slopes, and 30-32 ºC in the rest of the areas, except on the summits. The minimum temperatures will barely drop below 24-25 ºC, except in high areas. Light to moderate wind from the east.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Santa Cruz de Tenerife 24 30

LA GOMERA

Generally slightly cloudy skies. Light haze. Temperatures unchanged or slightly decreasing. 34 ºC will be reached in the midlands and coasts, mainly on the south, southeast and west slopes, and 30-32 ºC in the rest of the areas, except on the summits. The minimum temperatures will barely drop below 24-25 ºC, except in high areas. Variable light wind.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): San Sebastián de la Gomera 26 33

Little cloudy, with some intervals of high clouds. Light haze. Temperatures with few changes. Locally, 32-34 ºC will be reached on the western slope and 30 ºC in large areas in the midlands and coasts. The minimum temperatures will barely drop below 23-24 ºC, except in high areas. Variable light wind, with a predominance of the eastern component in the midlands and summits.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Santa Cruz de la Palma 24 31

THE IRON

Little cloudy, with some intervals of high clouds. Light haze. Temperatures with few changes. 34 ºC will be reached on the southern and western slopes and 30-32 ºC in large areas in the midlands and coasts. The minimum temperatures will barely drop below 24-25 ºC, except in high areas. Light to moderate wind from the east.

FORECAST MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM TEMPERATURES (°C): Valverde 23 31
