VALVERDE (EL HIERRO), Oct. 10 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A second canoe was intercepted this Tuesday in waters near El Hierro with 220 migrants on board, according to the final count carried out by Maritime Rescue personnel, sources from the organization inform Europa Press.
The canoe was detected by the SIVE about five miles from the port of La Restinga, in the municipality of El Pinar, and the Salvamar Adhara set out to meet it to escort it and take it to the dock safely.
All of the migrants are of sub-Saharan origin and 16 women, seven alleged minors and a baby were traveling on the boat.
This canoe is the fourth boat to arrive on the Canary Islands this Tuesday after a canoe with 19 migrants that made landfall in El Hierro and two boats in Lanzarote, with another 73 migrants.
