This was reported at a press conference by the president of the Tenerife Cabildo, Rosa Dávila, who specified that the extinction direction will continue to be led by the Cabildo.

At this time, ten aerial vehicles are working in the area and 110 people have been evicted from their homes in the towns of Las Calderetas, Campo de Tiro and Carril del Polvo. Likewise, the animals located in the ADEPAC shelter in El Sauzal have been evacuated. This latest reactivation of the fire occurred after 3:00 p.m.

Furthermore, given the forecast weather conditions, with high temperatures and winds, it has been decided to raise the level of the fire and thereby allow the incorporation of UME troops who, starting tonight, will complement the work already being carried out by an operation of 90 people, Firefighters will also join in.

Dávila has stated that all the necessary means are in place to end “this nightmare” that began on August 15 and although the fire was considered controlled on September 11, it has not been considered extinguished given the reactivations, which have been more numerous. last weeks.

These reproductions, said the island president, are due to the “very high” temperatures that are being recorded in the Canary Islands and she has indicated that gusts of wind of up to 60 kilometers per hour are expected tonight.

Meteorologist Victoria Palma, advisor to the Cabildo of Tenerife, has stated that the Canary Islands are experiencing one of the most important and longest heat waves in October and has assured that temperatures will not subside until Sunday, although from Thursday they may register some decrease.

The Cabildo asks the population to “at all times” follow the instructions of the emergency teams.
