The second edition of the Fedola Family Run, held on Saturday evening in Costa Adeje, managed to exceed expectations despite the strong heat that prevailed in the environment. With participation that reached 700 runners, the race combined sport, leisure and solidarity, raising almost 10,000 euros for three Canarian NGOs.
The race organized by the Fedola Group was held in a festive atmosphere and was attended by runners of all ages, from babies to seniors. The main distances, 10 and 5 kilometers, were competed to the rhythm of the Comparsa Tropicana batucada.
The heat did not prevent the event from becoming a day of sports and solidarity. The organization made a large buffet available to the participants and the festive atmosphere was maintained throughout the afternoon and evening.
The proceeds from the race will go to the Anchieta Association, the Nahia Assistance Association and the Quesada Sánchez Foundation, which work with groups at risk of social exclusion.
The Anchieta Association has worked exclusively in Tenerife since 1973 to create real change in the lives of boys and girls with inclusion difficulties. Works with minor adolescents, influencing educational intervention.
The Nahia Assistance Association began its journey in 2015 and emerged from the initiative of several professionals to launch a socio-labor insertion project for young people in social exclusion, preferably formerly under guardianship. They complete the project with young unaccompanied migrants who they facilitate in learning Spanish.
The Quesada Sánchez Family Canarian Foundation works with the Elderly Reception Center that bears its name in Tacoronte. Most of these older people have few economic resources and are socially excluded.
