The Patron Saint Festivities of Adeje started on Friday with activities for all audiences. The events take place in the Plaza de España, Calle Grande and in the vicinity of the parking lot of the Cultural Center where the fair is already installed.
The festive events began on Friday with the Canary Islands and Caribbean Gala Show, where the representatives of the different neighborhoods of the municipality will be announced (adeje does not elect a party queen). The gala included the participation of the Beanky ballet, Ballet de Tenerife, Municipal Group of the Adeje Folklore School, as well as Quimbao La Nuit and Toke Latino.
In this show, the Adejera queens paid tribute to the history between the Canary Islands and the Caribbean, so one of their shows was in honor of the clothing of Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. Within this gala, traditional Canarian clothing was also recovered, with the queens dressed in the traditional magician’s costume. The entire gala was threaded by music and the relevance of emigration in the cultural and historical development of Adeje.
Yesterday, Callejeando, one of the new features of this year’s program, took place. This event comes hand in hand with music since it replaces the float parade on Saturday afternoon. A different bet that located three stages along Grande Street with musical performances of all kinds. Parallel to the performances, parades from different cultural groups will be incorporated and finally, the queens’ float.

Today will be the solemn day of Adeje. Starting at 6:45 p.m., the municipal flag will be moved from the Town Hall to the main church, where the mass will be sung by the Camerata Mencey Tinguaro Musical Association, and the offering of the different parishes of the municipality to the patron saint. At its end, the procession of the venerated image will take place with the accompaniment of the Carriers of the Virgin and the collaboration of a group of bearers from La Orotava devoted to the Virgin; religious, civil and military authorities, Brotherhood of the Holy One, the Mujeres Adejeras con la Virgen collective and the musical bands of the Musical Board of the Historic Villa of Adeje and the War Band Number 2 Brylcan XVI. After the liturgical celebration, the singer Soraya will enter the scene and later, a festival by the Sabrosa orchestra.
