He president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, has seen “outrageous” that around 200 migrants from various cayucos had to spend the night this Friday at the Los Cristianos Pier (Tenerife) in the face of the passivity of the State and the lack of space in first reception centers.
This was stated by the top regional leader in his official profile on the social network “dock of shame” during the 2020 immigration crisis with hundreds of migrants crammed into port of Arguineguin (Gran Canaria).
“While the State waits in the offices of Madrid to act in Canary Islands ‘when deemed necessary’the archipelago assists helplessly in outrageous situations that are reminiscent of the Arguineguín pier of shame,” said Clavijo.
