SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Military Emergency Unit (UME) will be awarded the Security and Emergency Registry Award for its historical contribution to disaster management in Spain, as reported by the College of Property, Commercial and Personal Property Registrars of Spain, which will announce the award and highlight the work of the Unit during the VII Congress of Registrars 2023, which will be held in Tenerife between October 4 and 6.
The award was created with the intention of recognizing and awarding groups, organizations or people for their outstanding contribution to the defense of society in the framework of security or emergency management, areas of action of the group of registrars. In this sense, the UME, dependent on the Ministry of Defense of the Government of Spain, has become a key asset of our country and a reference for selfless public service.
The Institution highlights that the island, as well as the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, has suffered the attacks of the Tenerife fires in 2023, the eruption of the La Palma volcano in 2021 or the great fire in Gran Canaria in 2019, which is why It will be a privilege to praise the work of the UME where its encouragement and help have been most felt.
During the three-day meeting, which will be attended by more than 300 congressmen and in which prominent experts from the legal, political and social scene will participate, legal security and sustainability will be debated, with the aim of building a space for reflection that defines and illuminates the country challenges that Spain faces in terms of sustainability.
