SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Oct. 2 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Tenerife Auditorium programs two days of concerts from the Canarias Jazz Showroom festival this weekend. On Friday (the 6th) the Chamber Hall will receive Jonay Mesa & Luis Sánchez, a guitar and piano duo, and the Yul Ballesteros Trío starting at 7:30 p.m. The next day (Saturday 7), in the same room and at the same time, CJS Reunion Sara Lilu Octet will play and, later, at the end of the concert, a live performance with Kepa Martínez and The Hot Club Tenerife will be offered in the hall.

Jonay Mesa & Luis Sánchez is a new project that was born from the meeting of these two young musicians, composers and improvisers. Both share an original repertoire with arrangements for guitar and piano, combining the musical imagination of each one and sharing a journey full of dedication, complicity and improvisation taking off from each piece of music.

Yul Ballesteros’ new album project, Alma, shows the personal and musical evolution of this guitarist and composer, in which he has imbued elegance, delicacy and many nuances. It is an album that is based on the personal growth and musical maturity of the artist. The trio with which he presents this work is made up of Ballesteros himself, Carlos Meneses on double bass and Akior García on drums.

Sara Lilu, voice is a young singer from Tenerife, graduated from the Liceu Superior Conservatory in Barcelona and an outstanding voice of Canarian jazz. She has just presented her final work in the city of Ella with her own compositions and with a band led by her and made up of other talented jazz students from the school. Canarias Jazz Showroom gives her the opportunity to lead a band of great Canarian musicians from different generations, under the name of CJS Reunion Sara Liu Octet, with the intention of creating links and making her professional project a reality.

The CJS Reunion Sara Lilu Octet project arises with the intention of celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Canarias Jazz Showroom, a festival made to present jazz projects made in the Canary Islands or led by Canarian musicians. The group is an octet and is made up of Kike Perdomo, Carlos Pérez, Idafe Pérez, Kevin Díaz, Agustín Pérez, Iván Gutiérrez, Carlos Costa and the singer Sara Lilu. In addition, during the development of this day the Archipelago Awards will be presented.

The Hot Club Tenerife is a group formed by Canarian musicians united by a passion for swing music and improvisation. Their repertoire ranges from immortal classics by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli to contemporary swing pieces, and they perform it to the rhythm of acoustic guitar with Yeray Herrera, accordion with Pablo González, double bass with Agustín Buenafuente and drums with Filemón Montero.

On this occasion, the group will have clarinetist Kepa Martínez as soloist, trained in Modern Music and Jazz at the Conservatorio Superior de Canarias. He has played at many festivals, receiving the Archipelago Award for Emerging Artist. He has participated in the recording of multiple jazz albums and currently combines his activity as a clarinetist with that of a professor at the Professional Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands.

Tickets, at a general price of 15 euros, can be purchased on the website www.auditoriodetenerife.com, at the box office from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and by phone by calling 902 317 327 during the same hours.
