SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A cayuco in which 43 migrants were traveling arrived today, Saturday, at the port of Los Cristianos, in Tenerife, from Senegal, as Maritime Rescue sources have informed Europa Press.
The boat was detected by the SIVE and sighted by Fred Olsen’s ferry ‘Benchijigua Express’ 4 miles from Punta Rasca, so the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center mobilized the sea rescuer ‘Alpheratz’.
After reaching its position, the rescuer accompanied the canoe to the port of Los Cristianos, where its occupants, all men and eleven of them minors, were treated by SUC health personnel and Red Cross volunteers.
As reported by the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2, the 43 people who were rescued were in good general condition and no transfers were made to health centers.
