The unions calling for the discretionary transport and goods strike in the province of Las Palmas continue with the call once no agreement has been reached in the meeting held at the Canarian Labor Court, according to a joint statement from the Commissions. In relation to the transport of goods, the parties agreed to meet again on October 3, once the strike has begun, when the employers plan to present a salary update proposal on December 31, 2022, on which the amounts will be negotiated. salary increases as of January 1, 2023. The strike committee will present at said meeting a proposal to update salaries from 2007 to 2022, in accordance with the sum of the CPI of the Canary Islands Community for said years.
Regarding discretionary transport, the employer presents a proposal for a salary increase for the year 2023 of up to 6%, for the year 2024 of up to 8%, up to 6% for 2025, up to 5% for 2026 and 3%. for 2027. Regarding the salary update, they are limited to increasing the difference in 2011 salaries in relation to the minimum interprofessional salary, which does not affect all professional categories.
The parties agree, at the proposal of the FTA, to meet again on Tuesday, October 3, in order to finalize said proposal and evaluate the suspension of the strike, if applicable, to continue the negotiation.
Likewise, the unions announce that they will appeal to justice the “abusive” minimum services decreed “unilaterally” by the Department of Education of the Canary Islands Government for school transportation, which establishes one hundred percent coverage “without even deigning to listen.” to the unions”. They remember that, on previous occasions, the courts have already granted the precautionary suspension of these services due to their nature manifestly contrary to the law.
The unions maintain that these minimum services contrast with those of the General Directorate of Transportation for the rest of the modalities, which are the result of the conversations held with the unions and employers.
