The recreational areas of Chanajiga, Lomo La Jara and Las Raíces, closed after the Tenerife fire, reopen

The Cabildo of Tenerife has updated the measures adopted due to the fire that occurred on August 15 and has reopened the recreational areas of Chanajiga (Los Realejos) and Lomo La Jara (Tacoronte), as well as the recreational area and camping area of ​​Las Raíces (The rosary).

The Minister of the Natural Environment, Blanca Pérez, explains in a note that they are reopening some recreational areas and allowing activities to return to normal, while remembering that “the fire is not extinguished so we must continue to maintain caution in the activities carried out in the mountains”.

So too Access is allowed to the area annexed to the Lomo La Jara recreational area.which includes access to the Agua García Visitor Center, accessible trail, the PR TF-25.4 trail and the Fuente Fría track, only to the Las Raíces recreational area.

Access is also allowed to the area attached to the Las Raíces recreational area, which includes the Acebiñal track, Cascajal and the access to the Las Raíces recreational area and access to the general Arico track, Anocheza track and the access to the Izaña observatory.

Besides, Access is allowed to the Las Calderetas recreational area exclusively for the use of firewood and wood that require, in any case, prior authorization.

The Cabildo also reports that the recreational areas and camping areas of Hoya del Abade (La Victoria), La Caldera and Ramón El Caminero (La Orotava), La Laguneta Chica (Santa Úrsula), Las Calderetas (El Sauzal) remain temporarily closed. and Los Frailes (Arafo).

Bans

On the contrary, it maintains the ban on outdoor fires and pyrotechnic displays in the area of ​​​​the municipalities affected by the fire (Fasnia, Güímar, Arafo, Candelaria, El Rosario, Tacoronte, El Sauzal, La Matanza de Acentejo, La Victoria de Acentejo, Santa Úrsula, La Orotava and Los Realejos).

Likewise, traffic is temporarily prohibited in the areas affected by the fire in said municipalities.

Roads with restrictions

Regarding roads, restrictions on access to the National Park of the Teide by La Esperanza (TF-24) and La Orotava (TF-21).

These restrictions imply a speed limit of 50 km/h and a prohibition on the circulation of two-wheeled vehicles (motorcycles and bicycles) and vehicles over 12 meters in length.

Thus, they are applied on the TF-24 between the Machado Crossing (Preventorio de La Esperanza) and Izaña (from PK 9+000 to PK 37+500) and on the TF-21 from the La Caldera access to Portillo Bajo. (from PK 16+000 to PK 33+000).

For its part, The viewpoints located on the island roads in the areas affected by the fire are reopened and the stopping of vehicles will be allowed where there is space for it as long as road safety regulations are not violated.
