The Cabildo, through Tenerife Tourism, has opened the deadline to participate in the 6th edition of the Sustainable Tourism Practices Contest, a contest that seeks to make visible and reward good practices in sustainability of companies, local administrations and other entities. public and private sector on the Island, as well as universities.
In this sixth edition, the contest will have seven categories: best sustainable practice in local administrations, nature tourism, tourist accommodation, other tourist services, gastronomy and events with tourist projection, in addition to the best university work that promotes sustainable tourism practices.
The CEO of Tourism of Tenerife, Dimple Melwani, pointed out that “these awards, already consolidated over these years, come to recognize the work of administrations and organizations in favor of sustainability in the tourism field, which is directly linked to the tourist entity’s commitment to sustainable tourism”.
Likewise, Melwani added that, “as happened last year, in this year’s edition the work of gastronomy professionals is once again rewarded, especially for their commitment to local and kilometer zero products, as well as “to the university sector, which contributes through knowledge, dissemination and research, to promote sustainability management. Likewise, events with tourist projection also have their recognition in these awards.”
