Brewery of Canary Islands will launch, in mid-October, a limited solidarity edition of Dorada Pilsen with which it aims to join the environmental restoration work in the areas of Tenerife affected by the fire last August, the largest in the last 40 years and which affected a third of the island’s forest mass. To this end, the company plans to donate the cost of 100,000 of these bottles to the Foresta Foundationdedicated to the recovery, maintenance and conservation of the forest masses of the islands.

This edition incorporates a label with the motto ‘Fuerza Tenerife’ and a QR codethrough which you can access information about said collaboration, in addition to encouraging consumers to make their own financial contributions to the Foresta Foundation for the same purpose.

Likewise, in line with Cervecera de Canarias’ commitment to the environment, The label has been made from recycled fibers, with vegetable inks and is 100% recyclable. At the same time, the returnable bottle format has been used, with a lower impact on CO2 emissions than other formats such as non-reusable bottles or cans.

The initiative has also been possible thanks to the solidarity work of Canarian companies, such as the LDR Lauder Creativa agency, which has collaborated selflessly with the development of the design, and Litografias Romero, which has assumed the costs derived from the new plates necessary for the new label.

The choice of Fundación Foresta, a private non-profit entity, is supported by its objective of recovering, maintaining and conserving the forest masses of the Canary Islands. Its activity focuses on reforestation, thus stopping the serious process of desertification and erosion suffered by the islands and recovering and improving the exceptional environmental and cultural heritage of the Canary Islands. For 25 years, it isThis foundation has helped plant more than 500,000 trees on the islands already the recovery of 726 hectares of nature on the islands.

The actions planned by Foresta Foundation With this donation they will focus on the reconstruction of the affected area through work to stop soil erosion, actions to reduce the risk of falling trees, as well as repopulation actions and elimination of opportunistic species. These works will be defined in coordination with the Tenerife Council.

In addition, Cervecera de Canarias has worked in the past on corporate volunteering exercises with this foundation, especially after the fire that devastated more than 10,000 hectares of the mountains of Gran Canaria in 2019.

Boncho Tour in Güímar

On the other hand, the company will carry out another support action, coinciding with the celebration ofl Boncho Tour, sponsored by Dorada, next September 30 in Güímarone of the municipalities most affected by the fire.

In this case, 5,000 reusable cups will be donated so that the proceeds from their sale during the eventset at one euro per glass, is intended to meet the needs of the Güímar volunteer firefighters, who participated in the fire extinguishing efforts.

In this case, the company provided cooling equipment for food in five centers and where, in addition, it supplied non-alcoholic beer and juices for the evacuees and for the troops who worked directly to extinguish the fire.
