The year that King Kong captured all eyes in Tenerife

The most nostalgic will remember the imposing king kong figure which became one of the main attractions of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival of 1988. That year, the theme chosen for the great chicharrera party was “Jungle“.

At eight meters tall, the ape was part of the decoration of the Plaza de España. It was assembled and mounted on a metal structure made by Aquilino Dortawith a height of 10 meters.
