The correct use of the defibrillator in a gym in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, has saved the life of a 46-year-old man who suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest when he was in the sports facility.
The 1-1-2 emergency service has reported that around 10:42 a.m. it received the alert indicating that a user had suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest and the sports facility staff were performing first aid.
The workers, after witnessing that the man had fainted, verified that he had suffered cardiorespiratory arrest, so they began resuscitation maneuvers with the support of a semi-automatic defibrillator, managing to reverse the cardiorespiratory arrest.
Upon arrival, the health personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) verified that the affected person had been recovered and after stabilizing him, they proceeded to transfer him in serious condition to the Canary Islands University Hospital.
