Santa Cruz de Tenerife will celebrate this weekend the commemoration of the Deed of July 25, on the 226th anniversary of one of the most relevant historical events of the municipality, together with its own foundation.

The re-enactment will take place this year over three days and all the commemorative events are organized by the capital City Council, the Friends of July 25 Tertulia and the Historical-Cultural Association July 25, 1797, which proposed delaying the commemorative events until this month of September from its usual celebration in July, due to the coincidence with the general elections.

Thus, the events organized by Recreation will begin tomorrow, with the opening ceremony of the camp in the Plaza del Duque de Santa Elena, starting at 7:00 p.m. Later, at 9:00 p.m., the re-enactment of the landing of the English troops in the surroundings of Castle Black will take place.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the logistics of the Recreation move to the area of the Plaza del Duque de Santa Elena, with the opening of the camp at 10:30 a.m., which includes the raising of the flags of the forces involved in the conflict. . Different exercises and troop movements will be carried out until 6:00 p.m., and access to the camp will be allowed for the public. Once again this year, the Paso Alto Castle will be the chosen setting for the raising of the flag of Charles III, at 12:00 p.m.

One of the events that attracts the greatest attention from the public is the recreation of the landing in which Nelson was wounded and the street fighting between the English and the troops commanded by General Gutiérrez, in the historic center of the city. Event that will begin on Saturday at 8:30 p.m., in the Plaza de España area and in the Santos ravine. Meanwhile, on Sunday, at 12:00 p.m., the signing of the English Capitulation and the re-embarkation of these troops will be represented in the squares of La Candelaria, area of the Palacio de Carta, and of Spain
