The advisor of Ecological Transition and Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands, Mariano Hernandez Zapataassured this Wednesday that if instead of reopening the real estate project file Cradle of the Soulin Adeje, his department chose to let it expire, the promoter of the work would “applaud.”
Mariano Hernandez Zapata has made this statement after acknowledging that she has been surprised by the “commotion” caused by her statements to Radio Club Tenerife, in which she said that the file on the Cuna del Alma tourism project will be reopened.
He explained that if the file were allowed to expire because it has not been processed as he believes the previous advisor of this department expected, the promoter would only have to face the resolutions with the Environmental Protection Agency and the General Directorate of Heritage. .
Mariano Hernández Zapata has insisted that when reopening the file his department acts responsibly by “resetting the counter”, so that the promoter will have to give the explanations requested, and which will be similar to those were requested at the beginning.
He has indicated that “every last comma of the law will be demanded”, while if it is allowed to lapse the promoter would not have to respond for the situation of the sad snake plant, which is included in the Canary Islands catalog of protected species.
