He president of nc, Román Rodríguez, warned this Wednesday that Canary Islands will no longer have more than 80 million euros due to the decision of CC and PP to eliminate the Inheritance Taxquadruple what the Government announced, in a measure that, in his opinion, only favors the “richest”0.3% of the Canary Islands population.

In a press conference with his party’s parliamentary spokesperson, Rodríguez has highlighted that the reduction caused by the suppression of the Inheritance Tax in the Canary Islands is due to the fiscal rules that will apply from 2024which will double the reduction in spending.

The NC leader has also pointed out that it is not true that thanks to the elimination of the Inheritance Tax, citizens who inherit assets of between 40,000 and 60,000 will not have to pay, since in the Canary Islands “no one paid” because there was a bonus for inheritances up to 300,000 euros.

NC has insisted on criticizing to the new Government that presides Fernando Clavijo (DC) for continuing to “inflate” the Executive’s organizational chart having created 26 senior positions and hired 13 advisors, what already seems like “a recruitment office” of CC and PP, with an average annual cost for each new position of 80,000 gross euros.

He has reproached CC and PP that “they preached that we had to tighten the belt when what they have done is take it off”, while at the same time ensuring that it is the Canary Islands Government which has created more expenses and advisors throughout the autonomy stage.

Roman Rodriguez: "The employment data for the second quarter confirm the correct economic policies of the previous Canary Islands Executive"

“Erratic fiscal policy”

Likewise, he has criticized the Executive for trying to avoid budget deviations for being impossible to comply with to privatize services and not renew contracts, as will happen at the end of the year with some hospitals, and which hides behind the “uncertainties” due to the fact that the new State Government has not yet been formed to delay the preparation of the regional budgets of 2024.

According to Rodríguez, income forecasts can be calculated prudently and “there is no problem” in making them, as already happened in 2020 when there was no State budget law.

The problem, he stressed, is due to the “policy “fiscal erratic”since they still do not know if they will lower the IGIC from 7 to 5%, as they had announced in the electoral campaign.

The NC spokesperson in Parliament, Luis Camposhas reported on the four initiatives that will be presented to the next plenary session of the Chamber, including an interpellation by the deputy Carmen Hernandez to the Minister of Education, Poli Suarezto report whether it will comply with the plan that provides for the schooling of children from 0 to 3 years old.

The NC parliamentary spokesperson has stated that the problem that has arisen with the minors of this childhood stage who have not been able to start the course, despite being enrolled, is due to the fact that the necessary works were not carried out in the centers during the summer, which CC and PP have taken advantage of their “privatization drift”, so that these children have to go to private centers due to the lack of places.

Today, Campos has assured, the majority of children from 0 to 3 years old are still without a place.

In the new session of Parliament, NC will also ask for information about the “mastodontic structure” of the new Government, believing that it is “nonsense” and because of the “uselessness of the positions”, and will present two questions about Clavijo’s statements regarding to the “disproportionate” spending that he attributes to the previous government (PSOE, NC, Podemos and ASG) to address the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. coronavirus.

In addition, they will ask the Ecological Transition counselor, Mariano Hernandez Zapatafor their statements about the project Cradle of the Soulin Tenerifegiven the concern it raises for responding to a developmental tourism model, as well as its intention to introduce measures to reverse the climate change law.

The president of NC has spoken about the national political situation and has considered that, although it is not desirable that new elections take place, it seems increasingly likely.

Román Rodríguez has also criticized the lack of knowledge of the new Minister of Economy, Manuel Dominguezconsidering that the previous Government spent 100 million more than it should in aid to SMEs, the self-employed and companies due to the crisis caused by the pandemic, since this sum is due to claims presented and that have been resolved in favor of the applicants, so they must demand that money from the State: “If they don’t know how to govern, let them leave.”
