SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Today, Tuesday, the Femete facilities hosted the presentation of the 45th anniversary events of the Industrial Association of Automobile Repair Workshops of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Asintra), whose program will be based on three central events: Photography contest, ‘Asintrauto’ Congress (October 21) and associate dinner.

Those attending the presentation praised the work of the employers’ association in the industrial sector and highlighted the importance of having associations that bring together hundreds of small and medium-sized companies at the provincial level.

The Femete table was chaired by Francisco Roca, top leader of Asintra, who was accompanied by Lope Afonso, vice president of the Tenerife Cabildo; Ana Zurita, general director of Industry of the Government of the Canary Islands; Manuel Fernández, Minister of Industry of the Cabildo of Tenerife; José González, secretary of Femete; and Fabián Hernández, director and head of communications at Asintra.

As highlighted by the president of Asintra, Francisco Roca, “today is a special day for us, since we make visible our association and its 45th anniversary. We have the support of 600 associated workshops on the islands of La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera and Tenerife; which is a privilege but, above all, a responsibility.”

“Asintra responds to the training and information needs demanded by a sector as dynamic as vehicle repair, in which the workshop plays a leading role, as it is, ultimately, the fundamental pillar of the association’s activity. , designed to satisfy the demands of the professional, keeping the client/user in mind,” explained Roca.

The vice president of the Tenerife Cabildo, Lope Afonso, began by recognizing the work of Asintra and each of the associates for 45 years. “This association brings added value to the Island. Our attendance at this press conference reflects the Council’s commitment to the industry and, specifically, to a sector as competitive as automobile repair shops,” he highlighted. .

“We are committed, through a roadmap already drawn up by our advisor Manuel Fernández, to improve Tenerife’s GDP through Industry. Ultimately, promoting this area will contribute to more stable and higher employment. quality; especially in a context dependent on the services sector. We will go hand in hand with the sector,” Afonso concluded.

Next, the general director of Industry of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ana Zurita, revolved her speech around a premise that Lope Afonso already reported: “This is going to be the legislature of the industry in the Canary Islands. We trust in the small and large industry as a fundamental pillar in the economy of the Canary Islands. That Industry is under the umbrella of Economy means that we are going to promote all the mechanisms and tools to value our fabric,” he began by commenting.

“Asintra has been working and making an effort for 45 years. That is why they have achieved the support of around 600 companies that make up this productive and associative fabric. Only together can we advance through strategies. We want to increase the budget and continue growing with it despite the difficulties emanating from the increase in costs resulting from the Covid-19 crisis and the War in Ukraine. ‘I am Legal’, the motto and strategy sponsored by FEMETE, is a very powerful tool that we want to maintain over time,” he added. Zurita.

For his part, the Minister of Industry of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Manuel Fernández, congratulated the automobile repair employers of the province on the anniversary: ”We hope that, at least, they add another 45 years of activity. From the area that I represent, we have a decided commitment with you and with the rest of the Industry sector; not in vain, for the first time in history, there will be an Industry advisor in the Tenerife Council”.

“I am at Asintra’s disposal and, in a few weeks, I will request a meeting to launch initiatives that, with the new budget, will come into force as of January 1. This is the Industry legislature; we are going to launch polygons intelligent, and for that we need your proposals and considerations,” Fernández advanced.

The general secretary of Femete, José González, wanted to ask for support from the employers’ association and that they do not continue to be the “great forgotten ones.” “At Femete we want to provide associates with the services that large structures have. Small businesses are the ones that sustain and lift the economy.” González ended his speech by thanking the sensitivity shown by the government groups of the Canary Islands and Tenerife.

Finally, the director and head of communication at Asintra, Fabián Hernández, thanked the institutions for their assistance and support. The manager outlined the events that are going to take place, among them, the one that is already underway: the II Photography Contest ‘the automobile workshop’. Next, he launched the Asintrauto Congress, which will feature “four top-level national speakers,” he said. Finally, “the culmination will be the 45th anniversary dinner, which will not leave anyone indifferent,” he concluded.
