This Monday, Aena put out to tender the surface regeneration of the rolling layer of the flight runway at the Tenerife North airport for an amount of 2,285,977 euros. The work, which will have a completion period of three months, will also focus on the replacement of horizontal signaling and the surface aeronautical lighting system.
The actions will be carried out outside the airport’s operating hours, without affecting its regular operation. For the surface regeneration of the runway, which is 3,171 meters long and 45 meters wide, 4 centimeters thick milling will be carried out to guarantee high cohesion and stability to the rolling layer, details the maximum aeronautical organization in a Press release.
However, during the month of April next year, it will be necessary to suspend the PPR (Prior Permission Requirements) hour that the airport currently has, as well as the possibility of handling emergency night flights.
During the time period in which the works are carried out, the Tenerife South airport, which operates 24 hours a day, will be available to handle flights if necessary, with no action being carried out at the facility so as not to compromise its operation.
