The Civil Guard of the Las Palmas Command has rescued two specimens of Caretta Caretta (Loggerhead Turtle) after a citizen who participated reported that they were stranded on the coastal coast of the Jinamar area.
When Seprona arrived, the agents observed that the aforementioned specimens were trapped between the remains of fishing nets, so they proceeded, together with wildlife recovery personnel, to cut the nets and subsequently transfer them to the Wildlife Recovery Center. of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, since the specimens required veterinary assistance.
The Civil Guard reminds us of the responsibility of not throwing garbage into the sea to avoid these consequences that threaten aquatic life.
