SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo of Tenerife, through its Municipal Cooperation area, has awarded sanitation works in the municipality of Puerto de la Cruz for a value of 1,369,664 euros and an execution period of 15 months.
Councilor Sonia Hernández highlights in a note that “these works promoted by the Cabildo, within the framework of the Municipal Cooperation Plan, respond to the need to work hand in hand with the municipalities to end the historical sanitation deficit that Tenerife has.” , and in this sense, it meant “the great work carried out by the technicians of the Municipal Cooperation area, whose commitment to environmental development makes it possible to carry out very important initiatives for the present and future of the island.”
This week the counselor visited the area subject to the work together with the Councilor for Sustainable City and Planning of the Puerto de la Cruz City Council, David Hernández.
The councilor announced, during the visit, that “the City Council will take advantage of these works to install public lighting channels and repave the sidewalks, for which the council will contribute an amount of 115,100 euros.”
Hernández also announced that “from the City Council, and given the importance of unifying the entire network, all residents of the area will be notified, through a letter, that they will be able to connect to the municipal network taking advantage of this action, and thus , redirect the water to the municipal treatment plant”.
The work will be carried out on La Raya street, at its intersection with the San Felipe ravine, and Nueva, Olivera, Camino Casa Azul and La Asomada streets.
The project to be carried out includes the expansion of the sanitation pipes, as well as the stormwater network.
Of the total amount of the sanitation improvement project (1,369,664 euros), the Cabildo contributes 80%, while the City Council will finance the remaining 20%.
