SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo of Tenerife will invest 2.8 million euros in the sanitation works of San Juan de la Rambla and Puerto de la Cruz.

The Government Council held this Wednesday approved, within the area of Municipal Cooperation and Housing, the contracting file for the works of the sanitation network of the coastal area of San Juan de La Rambla for an amount that is around 1.5 million of euros and an execution period of 12 months.

Likewise, the works to adapt and expand the sanitation in the town center and other points of Puerto de la Cruz were awarded for approximately 1.3 million euros, and a completion period of 15 months.

The Governing Council also approved the appointment of Patricia León and Pedro González as insular directors of Equality and Foreign Action and Institutional Relations, respectively.

Likewise, the Government Council approved the modification of an agreement between the Cabildo, the Canary Islands Housing Institute and the public company Visocan, with the purpose of correcting the deficit of publicly owned housing destined for the rental regime on the island of Tenerife.

The objective is to promote the supply of rental homes, both through the construction of new homes and the purchase in the private market, to meet the demand on the island, states a note from the corporation.

Furthermore, by virtue of the agreement, the Cabildo is also authorized to finance the acquisition of properties under construction or the works that are necessary for the putting into use of housing for social rental.

Within the Sports area, the extension of credit for subsidies intended for sports federations, clubs and individual athletes for Travel Assistance to official national and international sports competitions 2022 (months from June to December) was approved.
