SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 12 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Minister of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands, Poli Suárez, once again defended this Tuesday that in many centers the works had not been put out to tender or awarded to adapt the classrooms and launch the almost 1,200 places planned for two to three years.

In response to a question from the Socialist Group in the control session, he defended the “real data” of the ministry itself and pointed out that the works were deserted in La Gomera and La Palma and also in some schools in Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.

For this reason, he has announced that he is going to summon all the educational spokespersons in Parliament “so that they have first-hand the real data” through the Ministry’s technicians. “They are not political data,” she commented.

Marcos Hernández (PSOE) has pointed out that they were not “surprised” that an agreement was closed with private schools for four million to guarantee the service because they were already demanding it from the opposition but he did not think they would do it “so quickly.”

He highlighted that the two to three year education model “was a success” during the 22-23 academic year and “there was no surprise” and he pointed out that the previous Government put out to tender the adaptation works, the supplies, and drafted the decree relevant and appointed teachers and support staff.

However, he explained that “the blue summer arrived, the collective amnesia, the inaction of the Ministry and the little political will” and the agreement was activated with the private schools that “were not going to oppose such a succulent proposal.”
