Agents of the Civil Guard belonging to the Report Team of the Tenerife Traffic Subsector They investigate a man who was caught in a breathalyzer test with the driving license of another person whom he physically resembled.
The facts were brought to the attention of the Research and Analysis Group of the Canary Islands Traffic Sector (GIAT)who initiated the efforts to locate and identify the true holder of the driving license, who stated that he had not noticed his absence because he used the DGT application.
Furthermore, since his address was not updated, he was not aware of the notifications of two complaints that had been made against him, and he found out about this when they proceeded to seize his current account, the Civil Guard reports in a note.
After requesting information from the City Council that required payment, they informed him that there were two files of complaints for positive alcohol levels and that the amount owed, adding surcharges amounted to almost 1,900 euros, in addition to the loss of 10 points from the balance of his driving license, which was confirmed to him at the Provincial Traffic Headquarters of Tenerife, when he appeared to inquire about it.
As for the driver investigated, in the two complaints detected he identified himself with another person’s driving license, but signed with his own signature, and provided his telephone number as his contact telephone number and his own home address as his address.
This person has a loss of validity of his class AM driving license, due to the total loss of the assigned points, in addition to not having a class B driving license.
Thus, he was informed that he will be investigated for an alleged crime of usurpation of marital status, by pretending to be another person, impersonating his affiliation.
A police report on the facts investigated has been delivered to the acting investigative court of the Guard of the judicial district of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
